Affordable True Wireless!
|Posted .There was a time where True Wireless In-Ear Headphones were fairly expensive. Fast Forward a couple of years and now the True Wireless technology is affordable for everyone to try! The Skullcandy Jib’s surprised me with the audio quality and a couple of other features. At this price range, the Jib’s are something you should consider obtaining. ===================================================================================== IN THE BOX/DESIGN: In the box, you will be getting the charging case for the headphones, which was 50% charged when it arrived, the true-wireless headphones, extra different sized ear gels, a micro USB cable, a user guide, and a 2-Year warranty! The case has a nice matte black finish to it. The case is small enough where it can fit in your pocket easily. Your pocket won’t protrude that much which is a plus. I would be careful when taking it out of your pocket since the case is slick. I’ve already dropped it once. While the case appears nice, I felt the lid could’ve opened a bit more. There are times where I’ll have to position my hand a certain way to remove the headphones from the case. This is the same case when placing the headphones in the case. The headphones themselves are designed beautifully, they fit fairly snug in my ear. I would be careful with these as well since they are just as slick as the case I’m not a big fan of the small micro USB cable, this could’ve been USB-C and a bit longer. Switch to USB-C for future models Skullcandy! ===================================================================================== FEATURES/TOUCH CONTROLS: The Jib’s has plenty of features some higher-end True Wireless headphones do not have. For starters, the battery is packing on these. The headphone will give you 6 hours of playtime with 16 hours in the case. Giving you a total of 22 hours of battery life! This is more battery compared to other competitors! The Jib’s are also water-resistant rated at IPX4. So, you’ll be able to exercise in these no problem. The Jib’s do not have active noise canceling but Skullcandy mentions that these have a noise isolating fit. And I cannot agree more. These fit so snug in my ears where a lot of the environmental noise around me is canceled out. An excellent feature at this price point, kudos to Skullcandy! Another feature that many other competitors lack is the ability to use either bud solo. I enjoy this feature since I sometimes enjoy having one ear open while I’m listening to music in the other. The headphones let you know when they are low battery and need to be charged, that way they don’t die on you all of the sudden. The case also lets you know how much battery is left in the case. Three flashes yield to a full battery and 1 flash yields to a low battery. There are a lot of touch controls with the Jib’s. The touch controls are a learning curve, but I did get a hang of them after a while. I did find them a bit uncomfortable since most of the time when I was pressing the button, this was forcing the headphone into my ear which wasn’t the best feeling. Maybe Skullcandy can implement tap controls in the future? ===================================================================================== SOUND QUALITY/USAGE: The sound quality of the Jib’s surprised me. I was surprised to hear great sound quality out of these. You won’t be getting thumping bass, but the sound quality is above average compared to others in this price range. The highs and lows are equalized and not one powers over the other. I’ve been mostly using these for music and have been satisfied so far with the sound. Overall, I give these an 8/10 on sound quality. The range on these isn’t the best. A wall in between these and your device is enough to cause some interruptions. I would recommend having your phone by you at all times for the optimum listening experience. Comfort-wise, these are some of the most comfortable True Wireless In-Ear headphones I have tried. I have other True Wireless headphones and they are not as comfortable as these. I can go hours with these in my ears and there would be no discomfort. ===================================================================================== CONCLUSION: Overall, I would consider these a success. Honestly, I was not expecting a lot from these True Wireless Headphones. I guess the saying don’t judge a book by its cover is still true in this situation. I was completely astonished at how amazing these are. Not only are these affordable but they do pack plenty of features that many other competitors lack. If you are looking for some True Wireless In-Ear headphones, I would definitely give these a try.

Good Budget True Wireless
|Posted .The Skullcandy Jib Trues are a true wireless earbud setup with a low cost of entry. The Jib’s come with the buds, multiple ear tips, micro-USB cable, and the charging case. The ear tip sizes are your basic small, medium, and large. The design of the Jib is pretty minimalistic. The charging case is small and easy to carry around in your pocket or stash in your work bag. The charging port is micro-USB. People have been complaining of micro-USB for 4 years since USB-C came out. I didn’t start to care until the last year or 2 – I’ve had a phone with a USB-C port for 3 years now and I just don’t keep micro-USB cables laying around like I used to. I have a feeling I’m not alone here. The buds themselves have a nice shape to them and they sit comfortably in my ears. They are made of a smooth matte black plastic with a physical domed button on each bud. They have a wider base that tapers outwards to keep the fit comfortable. The material texture and shape combination are unfortunately my biggest issue with the Jibs – they are so hard to hold onto. The first time putting them in my ear the right bud popped right out of my fingers – my hands were cold so they were slick which made holding onto the buds problematic. A little bit of surface texture or grip points would have been helpful. The earbuds have a 6hr onboard life with another 16hrs of life from the charging pack. This is a reasonable amount of time – I think my other buds clock in around 8hrs onboard, but I have never used them that long. I have yet to use these for more than 2hrs at a time, so the 6hrs is plenty for me. With any earbud setup I am mostly concerned with ease of use. I have a couple of other wireless buds that I like, not so much for their sound or fit, but for how intuitive they are. The Skullcandy system is different than any of my others in how it handles controls. All of my other buds have separate commands that each side is responsible for executing – e.g. the left ear turns volume down, right ear turns it up and there’s no overlap. With the Jibs there’s a lot of overlap where all commands can be accessed on both ears, with the exception of volume and track skipping. This has its pros and cons. The downside is more button pushes/combos to keep track of. The upside is if you have stuff in one hand you still access almost all of the commands with you free hand. The domed push buttons on each bud are how you interact and change your settings. These buttons are not the best if I’m being honest. You have to grasp the bud and essentially poke the button straight down with your fingertip. I found it hard to do this on the move, and needed to stop moving to make sure I was accurate with my pokes. My other buds use a capacitive touch interface for this very reason. I can overlook this because of the price point, however they organized the button pushes poorly. Volume up/down is a double tap. Play/pause is a single tap. Like most people I adjust the volume way more often than I play/pause, so I wish these were flipped. As it stands right now it is much easier to just adjust the volume with my phone than with the buds – sidenote: the buds don’t have their own volume control, they just adjust the device volume. With those things aside the Jibs do have a couple of nice features. They have the ability to work in Mono (one bud in) and still retain almost all functionality – volume and track control will depend on which ear you chose. Each bud has a mic so you can make call with just one bud. These buds are also rated with IPX4 which gives you a water splash resistance, so they should hold up for working out, but not showering/swimming. The range on the buds is pretty good – I made it about 40ft before I started hearing the sound cutout. The fit of the buds also provides an decent amount of isolation, so outside noise is reduced – keep this in mind if you need to be more aware of your surroundings. I was also able to run with these in, which I wasn’t expecting them to hold well enough. The only time they would fall out is if I was running with a hood up – my hood would regularly pop them out. Sound quality is better than I expected. Honestly these are some really good sounding earbuds. The snug fit helps the bass response, and the sound is clearer than I expected. There are no EQ’s to fiddle around with, so what you hear is what you get. Out of my 3 buds, these may have the best sound. I was surprised by this mainly because these are significantly cheaper than my other buds. Those buds are more feature rich and robust, but still I’m impressed. Overall the Jibs are a good little earbud setup. They have their shortcomings for sure, but if you want an honest little pair of true wireless buds then these are a good option. They have great sound, the mono option, good battery life, noise isolation, and portability.

Comfort, Good Listening
|Posted .Skullcandy Totally Wireless Review: Advertises: • Up to 22 hours battery life • Water resistant • Call, track and volume control • Activate assistant (Siri or Alexa) • Noise isolating fit • Use either bud solo • Compatible with Apple and Android Box Contents: • True Wireless Earbuds • Charging Case • Ear Gels (S, M, L) • Micro USB Charging Cable • User Guide Used Apple iphone 8 plus on ios 14.2. I was interested in this product for its convenient size, battery life, and the “True” Wireless device. To begin, I believe that it is important for potential consumers to know what the major difference between True Wireless and Wireless earbuds. True Wireless earbuds are two separate Bluetooth devices whereas Wireless earbuds have a connecting cord between the two ear pieces. A connecting cord can tend to be irritating especially if using during exercise routines, but without a connecting cord can make you fearful that the earbuds can be easily lost. Now let’s talk about the product… Initial Setup/Pairing: The Skullcandy Jib True Wireless Earbuds comes with a convenient guide card that clearly says “DO THIS FIRST” which takes you through the three simple steps on how to pair your device for the first time! This took about 15 seconds to pair the device to an Apple iphone 8 plus. On the other side of the card is the list of “EASY CONTROLS” which lists all of the commands from Power On/Off, Track Back/Forward, Volume Down/Up, Play/Pause, Answer/End Calls, Activate Assistant, and Clear/Reset. The card pretty much tells you all that you need to know, but there is also User Guide that goes into more details and also provides illustrations. Sound quality and volume: The sound quality is beautiful and the “noise isolation fit” does give a good feel of noise cancelation while listening. For the music enthusiasts that are looking for the perfect sound quality… you may want to look at another product, but for the average person these are pretty good quality. Fit: These fit in the ear snugly to provide noise isolation. I find these very comfortable to wear, unlike similar devices that tend to cause discomfort. “Easy Controls”: There are single buttons on each ear piece that can be used for multiple commands. At first these buttons were difficult to push in while in my ear, this most likely from the device being new and stiff since they have gotten easier to push now. Glance over the handy EASY CONTROLS card to see all the commands. Commands use single press, double press, triple press, and single press and hold to activate various controls. Once you memorize the controls or put them in your muscle memory, they are “easy.” I have noticed a slight delay with the pause/resume, this may be due to the device waiting to see if the button is pressed twice. I find the delay slightly annoying, but it isn’t a show stopper. Battery Life: It is important to note that the “up to 22 hour” battery life is not only on the battery life of the earbuds! The earbuds come with a carrying case that is more than just an ordinary carrying case, it is actually a charging case that also stores some of the battery power. The earbud devices hold up to 6 hours and the charging case stores up to 16 hours. This means that when the earbuds battery is drained, you can sit them in the case to charge while not plugged into an outlet for 2.5 times until the charging case and buds are completely drained. This was slightly misleading on the front of the package, but the back of the package explains this under the features section and as icons next to images of the pieces of the device. After days of use and recharging, it seems to me that it is about 20-22 hours if I was to be keeping close track. Ratings [Scale 1 (horrible) to 5 (excellent)]: • Ease of set up/pairing rating: 5 • Battery life (based on up to 22 hours as advertised): 5 • Sound quality: 4 (not perfect, but great for average listeners) • “Easy controls”: 4 (slight delay in some commands) • Fit Comfort: 5 • Overall Score: 4

Great value on a budget
|Posted .Design/ build quality: The Jib true wireless in ear headphones came in low key Matte black and the case is matte black with a grey line and the skull candy logo embossed in the case and on each of the earphones in black matte as well. I found the design and size of the earphones nice and it looks durable. The case is somewhat taller than other models, but this is understood as they needed to cram a bigger battery to get you the 22 hours combined battery life. Am worried about the hinge though and I am not sure how long it will last it I start putting it in my jean pocket. Pairing/ ease of use: Once you remove the earphones from the case they turn on and try to pair or connect with the phone. Pairing is a straight forward process and took less than 20 seconds to be paired to my phone and the same to be paired with my laptop. Range is acceptable with no interruptions up to 20 feet with no barriers between you and your devise. Touch controls are more like press controls. They are not a tap to activate, they are press buttons and I found it bothering at first but then got used to it. Controls are 1 press, 2 press, 3 press, and long press to get you the controls you want. The guide that’s in the box is very useful and easy to follow. Sound quality/ Volume: I was surprised by how good these little buds are. The highs and lows and really good for the price, and you feel an immersive depth which is great. Volume is high enough to enjoy music and have phone calls. Comfort/ usability: these earphones are very comfortable and you honestly forget that you have them on after a while. I am able to exercise with them and they never fell or felt unsecured. They are water and dust resistant, so light rain isn’t going to be a problem, but they ARE NOT waterproof. Battery life: I am getting 20+ hours from each charge. the case has a built in battery so when you are not using the headphones they are in the case charging via a micro USB cable. Final thoughts: These are really a great option to enjoy a good quality sound with long battery life and a fully functional controls with a very affordable price. I can’t complain about not having Google assistant available or the fact that it’s a Micro USB charging at this price. These are a home run, I recommended them for many of my family and friends.

Exactly What I wanted
Posted .I've been hesitant to buy bluetooth headphones (especially small "invisible" ones) for a long while. I don't trust the wireless connection to work as well in terms of sound quality, reliability, or a decent battery life, and I don't trust that I will be able to not lose one of the buds. None of this was true for these awesome headphones. Skullcandy is one of those brands that I don't entirely know where they fit on the cheap junk to high end spectrum, but having tried them I would put them on the leaning towards high end but affordable section. The earbuds have lasted me a week plus on one charge of the case with sporadic use (maybe a couple hours each day of one of the buds) so the battery life is really impressive. Not to mention the noise-isolating fit of the buds are well done and truly allows me to tune everything else out. I will say, after wearing them for a couple hours is a little rough and my ears are a touch sore. I have found that not pushing them in very tight helps this. The sound quality isn't the most amazing I've ever heard, but for the price, it's above what I would expect. The sound is clear and I don't have to crank the volume to hear it. I tend to use them for listening to audio books or music while I'm doing other things, along with using them for online meetings, and the dual microphones pick up my voice really well. The track, call, and volume controls are a nice bonus. I love being able to pause, hang up, and start playing with the touch of a button. Remembering the combinations for the other controls is a little rough. I have yet to try them while I'm running, and haven't had them out in the rain so I don't know how well the sweat and water resistance works, but can't wait to see how that goes! The fit is good enough that I imagine they will stay in the ear well while running. The only thing I would say is a touch iffy is that the buds are pretty small. I always have them in the case when I don't have them in, so I'm less likely to lose them, however, the case is smaller than my cell phone and thus I could easily misplace it. All in all, great headphones, well worth the purchase, and would absolutely buy them again. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion.

Great Affordable Earbuds
Posted .I really liked these Skullcandy Jib earbuds. The sound quality was absolutely amazing. I could hear the music clearly and I loved that I could hear the beat and bass very clear. The sound quality is perfection. I was really blown away. I could pretty much play and pause music just by pressing the Skullcandy icon on the earbud. Moving tracks forward, back and adjusting the volume is all controlled from the Skullcandy icon located on the earbud. I loved that I can use these earbuds with my phone to answer and end calls. It even has a voice assistant as well. It’s so convenient and perfect for my lifestyle. The best part about these Skullcandy Jib earbuds is that they are wireless and I don’t have any cables getting tangled up anymore or getting caught with anything. I’m amazed on how comfortable they are in my ear. They fit very well in my ear and they don’t bother or pop out. They’re stylish and so cool to wear. The charging case is awesome for charging my earbuds. It charges very quickly and it’s very compact. I love that these earbuds aren’t complicated to use. It’s easy to control. The battery life on these earbuds is so very long lasting. It can last me days before I even need to charge my earbuds again. I liked that each earbud is marked with L for left and R for right to easily indicate which earbud goes in what ear. I found the earbuds very easy to pair with my music equipment to hear music. It only took me pressing the Skullcandy icon on the earbud for two seconds and it paired quickly. These earbuds are really a must buy. I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest review.

Great Pair of True Wireless Buds
Posted .I am so glad I decided to purchase this pair of totally wireless earbuds. I had been wanting to purchase a pair since seeing so many people walking around with earbuds in their ears due to their popularity and convenience. I can't believe the quality of these earbuds. The sound quality is awesome for the lower price range of the Skullcandy earbuds. It took awhile to remember all the instructions for their usage without using the included instruction card, but once you remember how to use just one ear or both buds, they're pretty easy to use. They were also very easy to pair with my phone and have a long battery life (22 hours) without having to recharge them often. I enjoy using them to listen to music using the Alexa or Pandora apps on my phone; and when using them to answer calls, the calls are very clear and not muffled at all. My only concern is they seem too large for my ears even when using the smallest ear gels that came included in the box. I, also, didn't care for the USB charging cable that was included, since it's pretty much useless unless you're charging while using your computer because it is a very short cable. I would say they are your basic everyday wireless ear buds, but overall I am very happy with this pair. So, if you are looking for a great pair that are reasonably price, and have great sound quality, then I would highly recommend purchasing the Jib True earbuds. I received these wireless earbuds from Insiders at a reduced price in exchange for my honest review.

||Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. These are great. I also own AIRPODS but I admit I kinda got inebriated and had a little earpods war. I smashed the Skullcandy box onto the Airpods until they were broken. It only took 3 or 4 good wacks to smash the Apple earbuds. Totally unacceptable. Anyway... get these.

Q: QuestionCan I use these to hear the television while on my treadmill? I am an over 60 woman who knows very little about this technology, so is this easy to connect to television?
Asked by Grandma.
- A:Answer As others have mentioned as long as your TV supports bluetooth audio then these should work. I own both the Jib and the Sesh version of earbuds from Skullcandy and I would recommend going to the Sesh if you can afford them because they are smaller and should be more stable in your ear on a treadmill. Using the Jib earbuds on a treadmill may be problematic because they are larger earbuds and may not fit as tight. Skullcandy also makes the Push Ultra earbuds that have hooks that wrap around your ear which would be even more stable than the Sesh.
Answered by Explore42
Q: QuestionCan the buds be used independently? My biggest issue with the Sesh is you couldn't listen to just the right while the left could charge.

- A:Answer Yes, I always only use one at a time.
