We mainly replaced our old dishwasher because it was dated and white colored. I was a little apprehensive because our old one wasn't broken, cleaned and dried dishes well. But as we gradually have remodeled our kitchen, it definitely looked old and out of place. After seeing the LG discounted to $629.99 we decided it was time to upgrade.
After using it for 2 weeks, we love the way it looks and actually prefer the looks over many more expensive units and even Bosch brands. It cleans dishes well, although takes a bit more time than out older unit but is extremely quiet! I couldn't believe how quiet it was and thought it wasn't operating. After years of becoming accustomed our loud dishwasher it's a nice relief to have this unit. We also really like having the third rack for knives and other utensils. The main drawbacks of this unit is that the normal wash time is about 2 -1/2 hours, our old unit would be done in under 2 hours. The additional time isn't the main frustration, it's the fact after that time not all the dishes are completely dry, there would still be a few drips here and there. The unit does have an extra dry option which will stretch the time to 2 -3/4 hours but it still isn't completely dry which is just annoying. I believe the heating element isn't as good as my old unit as the plates would be quite warm from the old unit compared the LG. I don't overload the LG unit so there should be ample room to dry dishes and utensils. In the end, we just have to get a extra cloth to wipe off the few drips of water here and there but definitely wished it was completely dry like our old unit. But I'm sure this unit likely uses less water and energy compared to our old 20 year unit.
I love it. It’s so quiet and it gets everything so clean! I can’t believe I suffered with the one I had for so long, which I bought brand new. It was never as nice or as quiet as this LG. The 3 racks are so helpful especially that the middle one has an adjustable height. If you have tall pots, pitchers or tall vases, the middle rack can move up or down (see below). I’m very happy with this purchase. I waited a couple of months to review it just to be sure.
I purchased this for my home elsewhere and haven't used the machine, but watched a video of the installers who ran the machine, (sent from my property mgr. who was there to accept the delivery.) She reported that they checked everywhere for leaks and it was good to go! For now I give it 4 stars for a successful 1st run of it. haha.. I will be better able to rate this new DW after someone is living there again. Also the installer called my property mgr. at my home 10am that morning and also called me in Hawaii (4am) to confirm his arrival. Very prompt service. I tried to post the video of them showing the aftermath of washing, but couldnl't.
Sleek, quiet and washes great! Have to train myself not to wash before I put them in. Love the top tray just wish it was a little roomier can’t put bottle nipples in it like our daughters. All functions work great!

Very quiet dishwasher
Owned for 1 week when reviewed.
Loving my new dishwasher! It is so much quieter than my previous one. And I love the look of the stainless steel interior. I was not looking for a third rack which this one has, but I have used it on occasion and like that I can remove the rack if I choose. The installation went very smoothly and I was glad it was delivered within two weeks of purchase. At another big name store it was going to be six months.
We've only had this a month or so, but initial impressions are as follows: 1. Tried auto cycle first, found it to be lengthy and sort of surprisingly noisy. Switched to the normal cycle the 2nd day, it's quicker, quieter and gets the dishes very clean. Guessing we'll probably never even mess with the other cycles. 2. This is a nice machine, but I'd say the racks are of lesser quality than in the Bosch unit it replaced. Nothing wrong w/them, and the wheels do have good steel axles, they just aren't as heavy duty feeling. 3. Unlike some other machines we've had, the upper shelf is a breeze to raise and lower and that's a handy thing when you need to wash some larger than average thing. 4. If you've never had a dishwasher w/a 3rd rack and/or one that dries w/o that infernal heating element at the bottom of the tub, I highly recommend both features. The third rack handles all the silverware and leaves the rest of the dishwasher for nothing but dishes, and no heating element means you can put plastic stuff on the bottom rack w/o the fear of melting it. BOTTOM LINE... we had to find a white dishwasher w/the desired features in the middle of the "everything scarcity" caused by the ongoing microchip shortage. We felt lucky to find this in stock at the BestBuy website, and it was delivered in perfect condition in just a few days. We don't know yet if it'll last as long or longer than some others we've had, but it has been doing its job very nicely every single day so far.
I have found this dishwasher generally acceptable but can't give it 5 stars because I believe LG could have improved some aspects that would have made it better. The biggest shortfall in my view is the drying function. In short, it's not very good. First of all, using a drying agent is absolutely essential. In addition, to get dry dishes night drying must always be used with the "normal" option and even then the dishwasher must be left for hours after the cycle is completed to get dishes that are anywhere close to dry. The drying function is completely below expectations and well below the performance of our prior dishwasher. Other disappointments are the bottom rack jumps off track practically every time it is pulled out to load. And finally, the design of the silverware rack is inconvenient with a large handle centered in the rack creates an obstruction. I would recommend this dishwasher to a friend with caveats about the drying function.
On the positive side the washing function appears to be doing a good job, the larger tub is appreciated and it is so quiet that you almost have to stand right next to the dishwasher to hear it at all.
One of the best purchases i have made in a while.
From purchasing to delivery to installation, all was lined up so well .Very quiet when operating. The only drawback is that the buttons very sensitive to touch.
A:AnswerRemove the lower rack and position the bottom spray arm so a wider vee is open to the front. Turn the inner filter counter-clockwise and take out the assembled inner filter and stainless steel filter. With the filters removed, check the sump opening and remove any foreign materials, if needed. Clean the filters with a soft brush under running water. Reassemble the filters before reinstalling them. To replace the assembled filters, position the spray arm so the wider vee is toward the front. Fit the filters back into the filter holder and secure them by turning the inner filter clockwise until it clicks into place. ^Daphane
A:AnswerI can't speak to the other model you're comparing it to but if you use Rinse Aid and set the machine for the Extra Dry cycle AND load it properly so that water collectable basins on your dishes face down as much as possible the machine seems to do well, No machine has ever been perfect and plastic is a problem for all dishwashers as are oddly shaped dishes that allow water pools in multiple places. Unload at the bottom first so the upper rack doesn't splash to the bottom and just try not to overload the machine and I think it will be fine. What towel drying I have had to do hasn't bothered me so far.
A:AnswerThe are leveling feet on this unit. I do not see a reference for removable feet. The dishwasher must be carefully leveled and aligned so that the dishwasher is supported fully by the 3 leveling feet and is not hanging from the installation brackets. Failure to do so can result in leaks from the front of the dishwasher, AE errors, difficulty in closing the door, or failure to operate. ^Daphane
