Excellent Portable Battery Solution
|Posted .The Anker PowerCore III 20K is a compact portable battery pack that can extend the life your devices when you are on the go. The pack has a 20,000 mAh capacity and comes with a USB A to C charge cable and travel pouch. The charger has 2 standard USB ports and one USB C port. The USB C port is used to charge the device, but it can also be used as a supply port. The standard USB ports top out at 2.4A while the USB C port goes up to 3.0A. The design of the PowerCore is basic but well done. There’s a single button to interact with on top. The top case has a crosshatch pattern etched into the plastic that gives it a little texture and some grip. The rest of the body is smooth soft touch plastic. The 3 ports are located on one of the short ends. Overall, the body of the PowerCore is the same length as my phone, but a little narrower on the width and its thicker. Weight wise its kind of chunky – you will feel it if you carry it in your pocket. However, its not egregiously heavy, and it has the heft I would expect in a 20K battery pack. The single button has a couple of different functions. It has a ring of 4 tiny LED lights that act as a status indicator. Each light indicates a 25% charge capacity. If you press the button once it will wake up the charger. The charger has an autosensing function that picks up when a device plugs into it, so this is only necessary in a few cases. The one that comes up is if you have your phone plugged in and it hits a full charge then the PowerCore shuts down. However, if you don’t disconnect your device and continue using it the PowerCore won’t detect this battery drain. If you want to top your device back off you either need to press the button or disconnect and reconnect. If you double tap the button it sets the PowerCore to a trickle charge mode. With this mode engaged you can charge your lower powered devices like portable earbuds. Using the trickle charge mode extends the battery life of those smaller devices, so this is a nice feature. Using the PowerCore is as easy as it gets. Just plug in your device and it starts working. I picked up a 3’ USB C to USB C cable, which was honestly a pain to find but not really all that expensive. Charging my phone on one of the standard USB ports with the cable provide was estimated to take 2.5 hrs to reach full charge. Charging with the USB C to USB C cable cut my charge time down to 1.5 hrs. Buying the USB C to C cable is a worthwhile investment fore sure. You get the advantage of the 3.0A charging rate vs. 2.4A. If you plan to charge more than 1 device at a time then you charge rate will be cut down. The maximum output of the PowerCore is 3.0A. So if you plug in 2 devices then each one will get 1.5A. It will certainly take longer to charge, but if you really need to top off multiple devices then I don’t think you would care. Overall, this is a great little battery pack. Anker has been a mainstay in this product sector because of their solid design and reliability. I don’t see any reason to not take a look at the PowerCore III 20K.

Slim power
|Posted .The Anker powercore III a solid yet powerful battery pack. This power bank is very well built and has this nice stylish design. It is slim and kind of looks like a phone and fits well in the pocket. With a slim design it comes lightweight, it feels like holding two phones at once. This battery is a 20k mAh, it holds over 90+ hours of charge. It has 2 USB-A connections and 1 USB-C. The USB-C socket is multi purpose, it is used to charge the battery pack or to fast charge your phone. To use the fast charge feature you have to use a USB-C to USB-C cable which is not provided. I was able to charge three devices at once, two phones one via fast charging and a smartwatch. The battery performed extremely well, I was very impressed it only dropped like 1 dot. Charging with the USB-A took about 1 hour and 10 minutes to charge a phone with 51% battery level. On the top it has this button which you can press to display the battery level in 4 blue dots. The button can also be used to activate the trickle charging feature that can prevent overcharging your wireless headphones. It was very nice from Anker to include a carrying bag for this battery. Overall for the price you get a powerful battery pack from a trusted brand with a slim design, lightweight and some neat features. In the box you’ll get the battery pack, USB-A to USB-C cable, manuals and a carrying bag.

Capable Anker battery, customary excellence
|Posted .Anker - PowerCore III 20K mAh USB-C Portable Battery Charger This is all about choices and value. Anker has garnered a well-deserved reputation for performance and value in virtually every product category in which it competes. Here, in the portable battery charger category, they shine for a few good reasons. As an Anker customer for many years, including in this category, I have observed their progress. One of the reasons I purchase and recommend their battery chargers as well as their wall chargers is reliability and longevity. I can count on Anker. There may be other brands that claim to best the features and specs of Anker’s portable battery chargers, but in my searches and experience, there is always a little “Gotcha.” Either there is no cable provided, or there is less than the 20W output that Anker provides here. Or they are new to the business, or, or, or. Strong and steady, with genuine, useful and beneficial improvements and incremental benefits over prior battery packs. New to me in this iteration is a long press of the power button that activates trickle charge mode for charging of low-requirement devices, including headsets. Anker’s basic industrial design features a mildly textured, cross-hatch look on the top surface of many of their battery packs, including this one. The slim design is common among Anker as well as other brands as in the Lithium Polymer battery inside the rugged case. **WHAT’S IN THE BOX** • Anker PowerCore III 20K mAh battery charger • USB-C to USB-A dual purpose cable for charge/recharge • Storage/transport bag • Documentation **THE SETUP** Once opened, charge using the provided cable, connected from the USB-C port on the battery pack to a USB-A charging port on the power source for charging. Nominal charge time is 7.5 hours on a fully depleted PowerCore III. Slow charging may be beneficial when connecting ear buds and other similar low demand devices. The power button is a newly designed item. On one of my other Anker portable battery chargers, there is an LED circle of tiny lights that goes all around the button. On this one, there are just four tiny LEDs to uncomplicate the at-a-glance battery capacity. After charging, it’s time to . . . **PUT IT TO THE TEST** It gets no simpler than this. Find something in need of a little juice and charge it. Or charge two devices using the charging cables from the device(s). iPhone, Android phone, various headsets, earphones and earbuds, tablets charged without issue. Of course, this battery has 20,000 mAh of power inside. In simplest terms, it will charge less than a 30,000 mAh battery and twice as much as a 10,000 mAh battery. With two USB-A ports, this one is capable of charging two whatevers at a time. Fast charging of phones and certain tablets requires a device that is fast-charge capable AND a cable designed for the device to be charged. The cable provided with the battery is USB-A on one end and USB-C on the other. Fast charging requires use of the USB-C port on the battery and USB-C on the other end. With the proper cable, quick-charge capable devices charged quickly as designed. There is NO way to tell readers how fast this will charge their devices. There are too many variables. Just know that it performs as advertised. **CONCLUSION** Yes, this is the real deal! It works and it works well, in customary Anker fashion. Do not hesitate to buy if this meets your needs. If your needs exceed this 20,000 mAh battery, choose a higher powered Anker model from Best Buy. **WARRANTY** Anker provides their 18-month warranty.

Q: QuestionWill it charge an iphone6? About how many times?
Asked by Smokemaster.
- A:Answer In regards to efficiency, all our PowerCores burn 30-40% of their power when they are charging other devices. So the PowerCore III 20K has 20,000mah of power, but the power left for charing your device is in fact 12,000 - 14,000mah. Since your device has a battery capacity of 1810 mah, it should be able to charge 6-7 times with that PowerCore.
