This is my fifth set of BT in-ear, wireless earbuds, As a category they continue to improve, longevity continues to improve, These Skullcandy Indy Evo's claim 30h (6h+24h from charging case). I fully charged mine when I got them, then paired them with my iPhone, which was trouble free. I then ran them through Tara Labs Noise burns in tones for 5h 45m, when the right earbud was exhausted; so very close to the 6h quoted. This is the first set that I have that uses BT 5.0. BT 5.0 should improve battery life, but not sound quality. I installed the SkullCandy software and the Tile software, as these headphones allow you to "Find" them using the Tile find me app. This all want smoothly, and is a neat feature. The Skullcandy app also makes a big deal about Audiodo, and it's usefulness. Well after some set up searching, I found that the Indy Evo's don't support this, clearly not obvious from their app (-1 star, disappointing, seemed like a good feature).
Then on to the really important part, how do they sound/fit. I generally move to the next larger silicone earbud surround, but after testing I found the standard silicon cushion worked just fine. No on to Boston's first album; More than a feeling was very crisp, the high's very nice, on Foreplay/Long time the fade out fade in separation was excellent, the subtle build up was nearly perfect, the bass was a bit muddled, it was there but not quite as pronounced as I'd hoped. Here I looked to their app to see if there was an equalizer setting to boost the low end. But there are only 3 settings, Music, Podcast and Movie. and it can't be changed from the app, you have to try taping the earbud twice then pressing dows for 2s to change. VERY awkward, usually I caused the song to change, eventually I listened to each, clearly Music was best for music (duh) podcast enhanced the spoken word, (worked well), while Movie boosted the "center" audio, stereo separation was diminished, but the mid range was boosted. I'm accustomed to included software offering the ability to create a custom sound profile, I think this would have helped a lot, especially since the missing Audiodo software apparently does this very professionally. Very disappointing, guess they could fix this w/software in the future. While on this point they have a Ambient/non Ambient setting that allows you to hear the sound around you with the earbuds in. They do a pretty poor job of this, much worse than what I'm accustomed to, but that being said I rarely use this feature. I took a phone call at this point, and the quality I heard was good but the person I was talking too, found it difficult to hear me.
Back to the music, Pink Floyd's masterpiece; DSOTM. Speak to Me sounded great, I'd have preferred a little more volume, but I was at 100%. The subtle tones were great, but as the song builds it lacked some oomph, that higher volume would have aided (Maybe a custom EQ setting...) The highs of Time were excellent, these earbuds provide a crystal clear high end, they excel here. Then Great Gig In the sky's ethereal voices, nicely done, but more bass/volume would have been nice. Money faired better but it's much louder. The rest was well above average for earbuds.
All told these good are very good earbuds, that would really benefit from a bett/more complete software package. The are clearly behind the curve in this regard. If this were improved I'd certainly recommend these earbuds, BUT this needs to be addressed by them, they sound very good, but with a personal sounds profile (equalizer settings) they could be great. Skullcandy seems to understand this as they have partnered with Audiodo to provide an improved audio product via software based on your hearing/environment.

Owned for 3 months when reviewed.
They were cheap $49.99 they sound great they do stay in my ear, but my issues is they dont pair to my phones BT after i take them out the case i have to hold down the side touch button on the headphone to pair everytime its annoying. Also they unsync very easily if you get a text or any notifications one side of the headphones will be ahead of the other headphone also annoying so i only use one side while at work, if i have both headphones in my ear i have to pause the play to get them synced again. Its frustrating but they'll do for now.
I got these based off a suggestion from a friend as I was not willing to spend $150+ on Apple Airpods.
It was a good change if you are switching from wired earphones. Will take some getting used to as the side faces of the earbuds are touch sensitive. i.e. volume control, play/pause, next track, answer a phone call, etc..
For the price you could never go wrong with these.
Skull Candy has come out with "version 2.0" of their Indy "Evo" True Wireless In-Ear Headphones/earbuds. They have made some improvements from the previous model in this latest version. In the box you get the earbuds, charging case, USB-to-USB-C charging cable, 2 more pairs of rubber earbud parts of different sizes, 1 extra set of rubber earbud "place setters(?)", and paperwork/instructions. They come with a 2-year warranty.
DISCLAIMER: I paired up these earbuds with both a Samsung Fold and a Samsung S20 Ultra for testing purposes
* Biggest plus is using USB-C for charging the case! No more micro-USB. That is huge. Faster charging and easier plug-in.
* They have a very low-profile look and don't stick out of your ear very far (no Frankenstein look)
* Fit easily into the charging case and easily removable as well with the small rubber handle ends
* Paired easily with the Samsung phones I used.
* The touch controls were easy to use with voice prompts in each ear
* You can use them independently of each other (1 in-ear with other in charging case).
* The case's top is magnetized to the bottom when it closes; however, when it closes with the earbuds in the case, it doesn't have that magnetic "snap" it has when the earbuds are not in the case. I don't know if it was planned this way, but it doesn't feel as "shut" as it could be because some of the rubber of the earbuds is just high enough inside the case that the top just closes but doesn't "snap" like it should. It tends to open easier because it's not *completely* closed.
* For me, I had to use the bigger rubber pieces in order to keep these buds from falling out of my ear. They took some getting used to as they hurt my ears about 30 minutes after wearing. I took them out for about an hour, tried again, and they didn't bother me as much. I'm used to using earbuds with a "wing" on the back that secure them in a different way.
* Call quality was not very good. I called someone on these buds and they told me that I sounded like I was in a tunnel and the sound was very hollow and not extremely clear. They are an improvement over the previous model but this area still needs some work.
* I did not see much use of the Skull Candy app as you had to start from scratch each time and tap "Let's Go". Options were limited too.
* The Tile app can be used to find your earbuds if you lose them, but the app wants to run in the background all the time thus wearing out your battery quicker. When I did try the locate feature, GPS was good; however the audible sound that came out of them was not very loud... If they get lost outside, you might not find them because of the low volume they emit, even though at a high pitch/frequency.
* I listened while paired up on a Samsung Fold and the volume level, even at its highest, was extremely weak and had little-to-no bass. I listened while paired up to my Samsung S20 Ultra, and volume levels were quite better; however still lacked in high quality audio with good bass. For cheaper non-flagship earbuds, the sound I got is about what I expected. So if these earbuds are very weak, try on a different device and see if that changes anything for you.
* At moderate levels of volume (75%), I only got about 4 hours 30 minutes of playing time, well short of the 6 hours advertised.
* You have to be careful when touching your ear area since the end caps are touch-sensitive and can affect volume levels or pause/play depending on how you touch them.
* The charging case is made of plastic and is light to carry around with you. It feels a little cheap but still solid in it's build.
* The provided charging cord is 10-inches long and is not capable of wireless/induction charging
* The earbuds are considered to be "ready" when you open the charging case and see solid RED lights on each ear bud. For a more universal "ready" color, perhaps they should be green instead since red typically signifies charging or "not ready".
These ear buds should work for people that don't require high-end audio performance. If you're simply watching news, radio, or talking on the phone, they will provide a true wireless solution. They did not provide a ton of bass in my opinion and clarity was lacking overall. For the average joe, these should suffice though and are a bargain for what they offer.
