Great update and yes update to the whole Galaxy Buds lineup - do they sound as good as the Buds Pro? No! But they are 90% there. The comfort, fitment, features it's there. I'm not worried about the Buds firmware or updates as Samsung is very good at future firmware updates and fixes. Oh, and I set these up on a Galaxy Tab, updated the firmware ... then I connected them to my iPhone 12 Pro as this is what I use. Yes an iOS user who enjoys other earbuds other than the Walled Garden of Apple. I am enjoying these so far and will update after some use with them.
When it comes to true wireless earbuds I've come to the conclusion that you can't have everything. That being said these are still $150. The sound quality is more than serviceable, though I still think the pixel buds sound better. Enjoy good base with well-defined tops and present mids. They're extremely small and light, which is wonderful. Amazingly, the battery lasts for hours even with ANC on. ANC is good and seems to dynamically adjust itself based on your environment. The case is ridiculously compact and fun to fiddle with. You can even connect the buds to a new device without disconnecting the previously connected device, a wonderful luxury.
I knocked a star off because phone calls sound way too loud even when turned down all the way. It seems people with Samsung phones don't have the same issue. It's unfortunate because the microphones are wonderful and everyone says I sound great.
Comparing these to the Galaxy Buds+, there were some nice improvements, but I was surprised that the Buds 2 were not an across-the-board improvements over the Buds+.
- ANC is definitely a plus. I don't use it all the time because I prefer longer battery life and want to be able to hear things going on in the environment. But when I'm in the zone, it's a great option (and being able to toggle it on with a long press is perfect).
- The smaller size and better shape of the case is great. The pill shape of the Buds+ case can be... suggestive in a front pocket
Not as good:
- Battery life is not as good as Buds+ (even with noise cancelling disabled)
- The fit is worse that the Buds+. I love that they're smaller, but they keep popping out of my ears. The Buds+ have a fin that helps them stay put.
These sound amazing, however, the Buds+ are a much more secure fit for my small ears. These will work good for just sitting around the house listening to media, but I wouldn't want to wear them outside or while working out, I tried running with them & had to keep pushing them back in, couldn't get them in far enough to be secure bcz are too big for my ear & hurt a lil when pressed in farther. They are also real slippery compared to the older Buds & Buds+. But if your just looking for good sound without being real active, these sound great.
I want to start out with that I own the Galaxy buds plus and the Galaxy buds pro. I prefer the Galaxy buds2 over both of them. It takes the best features of both buds and packs them into one PERFECT bud for me. I cannot stress how much I love the Galaxy buds2. They are as comfortable or if not more comfortable than the galaxy buds plus and almost as good of sound quality as the buds pro. The buds pro would fall out of my ear and would hurt too much if I kept shoving them back in my ear. I wore them for four hours 8/26/21 because I got them early. I cannot find anywhere to give them a positive review because it was still on pre-order.
I personally think they should change the app because I was fiddling around a little trying to figure out why, by default, they weren't controllable with one earbud like the previous generations. You have to enable some settings in the samsung wearable app to get that capability. Also, I didn't realize you can tune the way the ambient noise sounds! At first, they weren't that great because it was boosting low end noise and made it rumbly. I tuned it to clear and they sound just as good as the ambient noise on the buds pro now!
The ambient noise from the Galaxy buds plus is absolutely atrocious compared to the buds pro and buds2. I would have the ambient noise set to high on the buds plus and I still couldn't hear someone 5 feet away from me. I can now have Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) with one earbud when the buds pro couldn't. I wear earbuds 8 hours a day in one ear at my office and I walk through a factory and I tested the ANC with one ear and it worked better than passive noise cancellation for sure. They aren't the best at ANC, but neither are the buds pro. With all of that said, these are the perfect pair of buds they have produced. A perfect in between the buds plus and the buds pro and I would choose them over both pairs any day of the week.
TLDR: They are the perfect pair of Galaxy buds because it takes the best of the Galaxy buds plus and Galaxy buds pro and packs them into one amazing product. I would choose to wear them everyday over either of those earbuds.
As is the case with the Samsung buds products, these are high quality, have great sound, and are comfortable.
If you have a Samsung phone, there are many options that enhance its use.
The active noise cancellation is a step above and is tunable.
The app can place a widget on the screen that will allow quick and easy switching of the ambient/anc and disable the touch functions if needed.
The small size and minimal weight make them VERY comfortable but, in my case, that size and the smooth finish had them falling out. I tried the different sizes and still, they were falling out! Even bending to tie my shoes had them popping out....They need some sort of "wings or "tabs' to customize the fit.
These are the second set of earbuds I have ever purchased. I like that they connect instantly to whatever you are listening to (tablet or cellphone). The only reason I'm giving it a 4 star rating is that they don't feel very secure in my ears. I have tried all the ear tips to get the best fit. My previous set of earbuds (EOZ air) had wings that clipped onto your ears and this maybe why I don't feel comfortable that they will stay in my ears. It's the only gripe I have. I find that I am constantly pressing the buds into my ear.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 reviewThe second-generation Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 are a huge improvement
A:AnswerI don't have an issue with them falling out. I have the buds plus and the buds pro. The buds pro fell out of my ear constantly. These buds2 don't fall out at all. I did the head shake test and I tilted my head to the side and left it there and after a while they can move but they didn't fall out. I also wore them for four hours and no pain unlike the buds pro.
A:AnswerI use these for running (not the fasted guy on the block) but have had no problem with them staying in, affected by sweat (heavy). Great sound, can turn on ambient sounds to be aware of things around you well (actually amplified). I live it for running.
