Maytag Top Control Built-In Dishwasher with Stainless Steel Tub, Dual Power Filtration, 3rd Rack, 47dBA
After suffering through a crappy but brand new & even more costly Whirlpool product for four weeks, i sold that and replaced my dishwasher with this new Maytag model MDB8959. Night & day differences in the drying capabilities, as wel as loading & dish placement capabilities. It also cleans great and is VEERRRYY quiet. So very impressed and it was worth losing money on the Whirlpool in order to switch them out for eachother.
our home originally had a 20 yr old maytag dishwasher in it when we moved in almost 4 yrs ago..fast forward a yr or so later we decided to purchase a Samsung 5650 disher which was discontinued after we purchased it and was a nightmare for entire time we owned it of almost 2 yrs..finally was granted a replacent and was in search of new one..
After doing some homework and looking at dishwashers at local retailer near us my daughter had pointed out a kitchen aide model that looked really good..unpon doing comparisons and who made what..decided on this dishwasher because of it functions and cleaning capability...it happened to be same model as kitchen aide priced $250 more and made at same place in Ohio as kitchen aide n whirlpool just with the lower price tag n maytagvname to it..
THIS DISHWASHER IS SUPER QUITE! Cleans well n efficiently n has a ton of space to cut down on amount of times you have to run ur machine each week..Dishes n silverware come out sparkling clean no residue left behind..hubby n i are super happy with replacement purchase n hubby said i did my homework well..
Whirlpool makes Maytag n Kitchen Aide as well their own brand of whirlpool dishwashers and are all rated amongst top 10 of consumers picks for dishwashers on youtube..remember to support the men n women who build these appliances for us proudly here in the USA..
Very Very pleased with purchase!!!
This dishwasher is QUIET! I used to have a Bosch 300 in my other house and I can say this Maytag is much better. The Bosch was louder and the glasses didn’t fit well on the 2nd rack. When I moved, the existing dishwasher has a plastic tub so I immediately replaced it with this one. The middle rack on the Maytag tilts the glasses perfectly. And as I mentioned it’s quiet and beautiful. I love that the seemless look without buttons on the front and it does keep fingerprints off!
Very well built, great appearance, and extremely quiet! We were amazed at how great the drying cycle works compared to our old dishwasher. We also like that the tub is stainless steel and that this unit has a third rack.
Glad I took back the LG and got the Maytag instead
Owned for 1 month when reviewed.
My first dishwasher I bought was an LG and it was horrible! It wouldn't dry anything and I don't think it even had a heating element for drying at all. When I exchanged it I chose this Maytag... It is AWESOME! I love the deep 3rd rack. The others are very shallow plastic but this one has a wire rack just like the lower ones. It also has jets on part of 3rd rack help wash cups and bowls. It does a really good job washing and drying and is pretty darn quiet.
The staff at Burleson (TX) were really good about the original purchase and helped tremendously with the return and exchange.
A:AnswerThere is a small food strainer in the bottom of the tub that may need to be cleaned from time to time. This most likely protects the pump from any incidentally small objects like hard food or broken glass or anything else that is small that might otherwise get caught up in the pump. Very easy to pop out and pop back in.
A:AnswerIt doesn’t have fold down tines on the racks. You can raise and lower the middle rack but that’s the only adjustment.
Cycle times: Rinse :23, Quick 1:10, Normal 2:53, Auto 2:53, Powerblast 3:28.
