Google - Geek Squad Certified Refurbished Nest Smart Programmable Wi-Fi Thermostat - Snow

I've been using this for over 2 months now and all good so far. I found some trouble when setting this up but it had more to do with my inexperience with HVACs than with the product itself. Google provides several videos and tutorials but also the option of hiring a Pro to do the job. You must check compatibility with your system before buying. It's now synced with all my other Google Home products so I can control it from everywhere. It's perfect.

I returned this product. It didn't work out for me for two reasons. 1. LADWP would not provide a rebate on a refurbished product so buying an open box version was not a good idea 2. I have a very old furnace without a c wire. I had difficulty maintaining connectivity and controlling the furnace with this version of nest. I end up returning this one and buying the next model out that costs $200 to $250. That one has a built-in battery that charges up whenever the furnace is running. It connected so easily and works perfectly. The cost was more but between the rebates and other incentives from my local energy company it was practically free.

Not like the older version. I have 2 HVAC units in my house and I own a Nest E (I previously owned a 3rd generation Nest). I assumed this was just a revision of those, but it is not. The bezel doesn’t rotate, it’s touch only and super inconsistent. It either way overshoots what you want or doesn’t register at all. In addition, touching it does one thing and sliding it does another and it has no idea if it is being touched or slid. Finally, the Nest app doesn’t work with this. You are stuck with Google home, which straight up sucks compared to the Nest app. Now I have a separate app for my upstairs and downstairs units, and they won’t talk to each other. Congrats Google, on taking all the functionality and user-friendliness out of yet another product. I get it that you want me to convert my like to Alexa, but maybe you should come around to my way of thinking instead.

Very easy to switch out with my existing thermostat. Setting it up was a breeze, but it enabled a few features that didn't work for my setup. My mother lives with me and the thermostat has a feature that detects if you are away and shuts the system off while you aren't there. Great for saving money, not so great when you realize it's 80F in your house while your elderly mother is home alone. Fortunately it was an easy fix and it has been working well since disabling that feature. Mine was refurbished, so it didn't come with labels or batteries, but the labels weren't really needed and I had extra batteries on hand.

I love this thermostat. I bought it for my dad, but it's still amazing and he loves it as well. I honestly think I am going to get one for myself now too. I love all the features and it is stylish too!

This Certified Refurbished Nest Smart Programmable Wi-Fi Thermostat works exactly as I had hoped and intended it to. The wiring needed some extra help from our HVAC company but once they connected everything correctly it's been working out great for us. I love being able to see the energy that I am saving each month by having this installed.

The thermostat is super easy to install with the automated instructions you get after scanning the QR code. I had to get a faceplate but that only made it easier to install. The thermostat itself is fairly easy to use. Touch the side. slide your finger up or down to get to the item you want and tap. I have the $250 learning NEST thermostat downstairs and find it easier to use but this one is nice. I like being able to see the set temp when walking by as it has motion sensing.

Works great with google home of course, but also works great with alexa. I love being able to adk google what the temp is in the hoise and turn on or off the ac ir heat ad needed. Programming is pretty straight forward and manual adjustments are easy too
