Matched flash for best results
||Posted .I had used a third party flash for some time with less than optimal results. The Photo staff was very helpful in letting me analyze the floor model Canon flash on my own equipment. Based on their help, I made a purchase and my flash images have significantly improved.

Must have for wedding photographers
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. As a wedding photographer, this is a must-have item in my bag. I use two of them, one on my camera body, one off camera. If you need more than one flash, make sure you’re getting one like this with radio transmission built in (that’s what the “RT” stands for). Initial set up is frustratingly tricky— definitely search YouTube for help. But once they’re set up, they “just work” effortlessly.

Pricey but consistent
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. It does what is should. I also have several yongnuo versions of this light and they are identical except the offbrands are constantly shutting off due to overheating. This unit has never done that. However I dropped this speedlight once from about 4.5 feet and the flash head broke and had to be sent in for repair (which was never necessary when I dropped the yongnuos). If you can afford it and don't drop things this is definetely worth more than offbrands because of consistent power and good functionality. Nothing ruins a shoot like your lights failing.

Worth the Price Tag
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed.I’ve always carried the mentality of buying Canon for Canon for nearly 3 decades as a photographer now. That being said, I will also say that I’ve never been a fan of their high prices for a dedicated flash unit, but I do love my flash!!! I’d say that it’s still worth the money and convenience. The only flash upgrade I’d ever consider for my camera is a Profoto. But I’d still say get this Canon Flash!!!

Q: Questioni purchased the 470EX-AI. What is the difference between the 470EX-AI and the 600EX-RT External Flash?
Asked by myrealestateagent.
- A:Answer After reading about the 470EX-AI, the AI is the difference most obviously. It clearly states on the Canon website or on Amazon that this flash calculates the distance between the subject and ceiling and adjusts the angle and flash strength to match. It also maintains angle as the camera is moved apparently. Seems cool. Not clear if this outputs as much flash light/power as the 600 and assuming the AI uses the batteries in the flash, this will likely decrease the length of time batteries can be used in the flash, and also may not be best when subject is moving quickly, or if the photographer moves quickly (as in wedding or sports photography). As photography is a "Sum of all parts" game, putting your flash in control of itself may not be the most dependable or desirable option for pros.

Q: QuestionDoes this fit a canon rebel t5?
Asked by zz.
- A:Answer Yes. Any of the canon speedlights will fit the rebel series. All canon camera's have the same PIN system...so you can use any of the speedlights on the rebel series. This just happens to be the top of the line canon speed light with the highest guide number / most power....plus a few other bells and whistles...that won't apply to you unless you are using multiple speedlights in combination with each other.
