Altec Lansing - HydraMini Everything Proof Speaker - Black

First off, I've had several Altec Lansing speakers over the past few years and most have been anywhere from flawed to junk. Xpedition 4 would shut itself off all the time. Returned it and got another one, same deal. Street Shock speaker wouldn't turn on when first switched on, then would come on like 10 minutes later. After a while it just pops when turned on and never actually turned on. Altec Lansing just makes very low quality products, but tries to charge premium prices. After this HydraMini issue, I believe I'm done giving Altec Lansing more chances to prove themselves. They just make lousy Bluetooth speakers. The issue with the HydraMini is with the TWS linking using two speakers. One speaker works fine by itself. Sure, battery life is really bad, particularly with lights on. Not much bass from this speaker, but then again it is small and you really shouldn't expect something this size to have much bass. It's when you link two speakers together that the real problem arises. Linking two Hydramini speakers was simple enough using the steps instructed. Problem is after a little while playing they will start to get out of sync and sound like an echo. After it gets worse the speakers will like briefly pause, then are back in sync. Or sometimes the sound will just start cutting out for a little bit, then will quickly pause and then be back to normal. And sometimes they will just do a quick pause while playing for no apparent reason. I switched to use the blue speaker as the main speaker to see if it would make any difference compared to when I had the black speakers as the primary speaker, but still the same issue. Sorry, but this is the last straw for Altec Lansing. I've given this company more chances than they deserve to prove they have changed, but they haven't. Bye, Felicia.

One of the best blue tooth speakers I have ever seen!!!

Good little speaker for personal use. My phone distracts me so it's nice to have when I want to jam but still concentrate on what I'm doing. Easily connects, the controls are easy to use, and it's waterproof so far (hot tub submersion including). The lights are really annoying though, that's why I gave ease of use a 3 star, and honestly I got so annoyed by it while writing the review I bumped my total rating down to 4. I don't know why they made the lights come on automatically when the speaker turns on. It takes like 10 clicks to make them go away. I'd leave them on, but they drain the battery faster. Weird choice by the developers. Still good for the money though.

First of 2 versions of this speaker I bought. Bought both on clearance and there is nothing to be disappointed about. Altec is a good brand and for the money this speaker does what I need to listen to music while working around the house, traveling or sitting outside.

I really like this little speak it’s very loud and you can hear it from one room to the other songs and different things I have on my phone so it’s real nice to bra by specially when I’m laying down the sound come out louder than it does on my cell phone itself

Battery life is very long, no need to keep charging this speaker. It's got colorful, lights when powering on, making it very pleasing to the eye, and has fine sound quality.

This was exactly what I was looking for! It’s small, but plays loud enough to be heard in other rooms! I got it to use outside as a less expensive option to installing an outdoor stereo system! I actually am going to buy more… Great design! #genius
